New polls in Connecticut show Joe Lieberman ahead of Ned Lamont by 10 percentage points in the race for Senate. After Lamont won the state’s democratic primary, many democrats quietly endorsed him and gave him campaign money. But most Democrats have avoided giving high profile support for the anti-war Lamont. This is very much in line with the […]

Yesterday in Washington the Senate narrowly voted against the Constitution 51-48. The vote pertained to terrorist suspects having the right to challenge their detention in federal courts. It was a close vote but the amendment to include the writ of habeas corpus, included in the Constitution, was struck down by the Senate.

Lynn Westmoreland (R) Georgia, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2004 and represents the state’s 8th Congressional district. That kiss cost Lieberman dearly in Connecticut’s democratic primary as he lost to political but very rich outsider Ned Lamont. […]

He called an aide to his opponent Macaca (slang for a macaque monkey) and welcomed him to the country. That aid was in fact an American citizen who was born here but happened to […]

They seem that way to us. Last year gas prices skyrocketed following Katrina and subsequently dipped only marginally. During the last year the oil companies have seen record profits like ExxonMobil’s $36 billion profit in 2005. But only now are gas prices taking a reasonable fall for us consumers.
Does it seem fishy to you that this is […]
