Democrats Reluctant to Do Anything

New polls in Connecticut show Joe Lieberman ahead of Ned Lamont by 10 percentage points in the race for Senate. After Lamont won the state’s democratic primary, many democrats quietly endorsed him and gave him campaign money. But most Democrats have avoided giving high profile support for the anti-war Lamont. This is very much in line with the […]

Senate Narrowly Rejects Constitution

Yesterday in Washington the Senate narrowly voted against the Constitution 51-48. The vote pertained to terrorist suspects having the right to challenge their detention in federal courts. It was a close vote but the amendment to include the writ of habeas corpus, included in the Constitution, was struck down by the Senate.
The House similarly voted against the […]

Has Westmoreland Learned the 10 Commandments Yet?

Lynn Westmoreland (R) Georgia, was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2004 and represents the state’s 8th Congressional district. This district extends from the southern suburbs of metro Atlanta to Macon and Columbus. Westmoreland should be the poster boy of the “Do Nothing Congress” as he hasn’t introduced a single piece of legislation.
Westmoreland […]

7-Eleven Splits With Hugo Chavez

7-Eleven announced yesterday that it was cutting their 20 year relationship with Citgo Corporation. Citgo is a subsidiary of the state owned Venezuelan petroleum company, Petroleos de Venezuela S.A.
Last week the president of Venezuala, Hugo Chavez stood on the UN floor in New York and called George Bush “the devil.” This was obviously not good news for the slurpy […]

Head On: Apply Directly In Your Brain

Everyone has seen the annoying Head On commercials. Head On apply directly to the forehead. Head On apply directly to the forehead. Head on apply directly to the forhead. Has any commercial been so effectively embedded in your brain?
We feel like writing them and asking ‘where do we apply this?’ Good god, it just came on again! […]

Say It Ain’t So Joe

Perhaps this would be Joe Lieberman’s response to the question of “What would you do next time you see George Bush?” It wouldn’t be the first time the Democratic Senator would have kissed Mr. Bush. That kiss cost Lieberman dearly in Connecticut’s democratic primary as he lost to political but very rich outsider Ned Lamont. […]

Senator George Allen Does Racist Standup

Last month at a campaign rally, Senator George Allen (R) Virginia gave everyone a good laugh with his racist standup routine. He called an aide to his opponent Macaca (slang for a macaque monkey) and welcomed him to the country. That aid was in fact an American citizen who was born here but happened to […]

Gas Prices Seem Fishy?

They seem that way to us. Last year gas prices skyrocketed following Katrina and subsequently dipped only marginally. During the last year the oil companies have seen record profits like ExxonMobil’s $36 billion profit in 2005. But only now are gas prices taking a reasonable fall for us consumers.
Does it seem fishy to you that this is […]
