US Gets D+ in Combating Islamic Radicalism
An independent research group of notable terrorism experts, The Council on Global Terrorism has issued the US a grade of D+ in it’s fight against global Islamic extremism. This grade is in stark contrast to what President Bush believes he should receive on his report card.
Bush’s ideology of fighting terrorists “over there” rather than here has worked since September 11th. In the last 5 years the US has not been struck again, while countries like Spain, Britain and other nations have been attacked. Furthermore, we have been fighting Islamic radicals in Iraq for over 3 years in what Senator John McCain has called “A game …read more

Bush Harbors Musharraf
On Friday, President Bush met with Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf . Musharraf has come under fire for possibly turning a blind eye to Al Queda and Taliban activity along his side of the Pakistan/Afganistan border. On Thursday, Hamid Karzai, President of Afganistan commented on the possible whereabouts of Osama Bin Laben “If I said he was in Pakistan, President Musharraf would be mad at me. And if I said he was in Afghanistan, it would not be true.’’
Last week Bush said that if he knew Bin Laben was in Pakistan, he would make the order for US troops to go into the …read more

Low Profile Bonus In Cigarettes
For all you smokers out there, you are probably getting a bonus that the cigarette companies are not telling you about. According to the Massachusetts Department of Health, nicotine levels in cigarettes have risen an average of 10%. It’s like getting a bonus amount of juice or cereal for free, except it’s an addictive chemical that makes it harder to quit smoking.
The studies findings were recently released and found that nicotine levels in the 3 most popular cigarette brands: Marlboro, Newport and Camel, increased significantly between 1998 and 2004. The cigarette brand Kool’s nicotine levels were found to have increased …read more
25% Of People Approve of Congress
In the latest New York Times/CBS News Poll, 25% of Americans said they approved of Congress. It is Congress’s worst approval rating since 1994, when the Democratics controlled Congress and got their ass’s handed to them in that year’s election.
This election year the Democrats hope to do the ass handing. But despite the Republican controlled Congress’s low approval rating they still face a tough challenge.
1)In 1994, there were roughly 100 seats up for grabs, this year there are only about 40 seats identified as close races (this is largely because one job Congress has successfully done is re-district seats to secure positions).
2)The Republicans …read more

Chavez Calls Bush “EL Diablo”
Today at the UN General Assembly, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez called George Bush the Devil. He said “Yesterday, the devil came here” referring to Bush. He also said Bush thinks he is “the owner of the world.” Bush nor anyone in Washington would either confirm or deny if he was indeed the Devil.
Chavez also said that the podium still smelled like sulfur, whatever that means. US ambassador John Bolton said that Chavez’s comments were ridiculous but that he was free to say what he wanted, specifically mentioning Central Park. Hmm, sounds like a dare Mr. Bolton. Should Chavez give his …read more

Bill Not Sure If Other Half Will Run in 2008
On Monday night on The Daily Show with John Stewart, former President Bill Clinton said he was unsure whether he might become the First Man in 2008. He said he honestly did not know if his wife would run for president. If she does run, and wins, it will mark at least 24 years that the presidency of the US will be held between two families, the Bushes and Clintons from 1988-2012.
Bill said that if she was planning to run he would know. And we all know to trust everything Bill Clinton has to say. He went on to say …read more

Vote Against Terrorism In 2006
In the last few weeks we have seen a fury of speeches and interviews by George Bush and Dick Cheney telling us to vote against terrorism. We totally agree with them, we don’t plan on voting for any terrorists this coming November. They want to blow things up and that is bad.
Today in Washington, in front of a convention of auto dealers Dick Cheney said “The war on terror is a test of our strength, a test of our capabilities and above all a test of our character.” In other words, don’t vote for the terrorists!
In front of the UN …read more

Bush Wants Clarity On Geneva Conventions
There is a lot of ambiguity in this world. Most things are not black and white but shades of grey. There are many pressing questions like ‘what is torture?’ That’s a vague question because what is torture to one person may not be torture to another. One man might find high voltage electrodes on their testicles unpleasant, others may not. It is philisophical questions similar to this that has sparked debate between the President and members of Congress.
On Friday, September 15th at the Rose Garden of the White House President Bush stood firm. He said “this debate is occurring because …read more
