Sirened

On Saturday night, ass kicker and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger held his only public debate with his Democratic opponent Phil Angelides. Angelides was hoping to debate the Governor as many times as possible but the Governator dictated the terms. So the sole debate was Saturday night. Perfect prime time viewing, especially since there was playoff baseball on along with the University of California playing Oregon on ABC.

Schwarzenegger figures that since he is ahead in the polls he has nothing to gain by doing additional debates. After all, there are only so many movie catch phrases and simple rhetoric to toss around. God forbid the California voters hear Schwarzenegger talk more! That could mean political suicide. Especially if someone more charismatic like Tom Green threw himself into the race. We would love to see how that would go, maybe something like this:

Arnold: “I will terminate you in the polls and then terminate taxes”

Tom: “Hey Arnie, your movies suck and so do your policies so go shove them up your ass”

Anyways, that would be fun. And isn’t that the point of electing movie actors and George Bush to political positions?
