Bolton Sought Platform Dive Into Sanctions

U.S. ambassador to the U.N., John Bolton, who in the past outwardly said that the U.N. is a joke, sought for all nations to join us on the high dive platform with regards to North Korea. Surprisingly, because of Bolton’s antics, the Bush administration’s policies and the fact that Bolton looks like a crazy hobo, he often finds it difficult for other nations to be on board with us.

In the case of sanctions against North Korea, there is agreement among all major nations that some action must be taken. Of course, Bolton immediately climbed to the top of the 10 Meter platform and demanded that the other members of the Security Council dive in with him.

Bolton made this proposal yesterday and gave his own deadline of today for the Security Council to vote on the sanctions. Both Russia and China said they needed more time to think about the specifics, believing the U.S. proposal was too excessive.

But a deal seems close today, after the U.S. has softened the proposal for the 2nd time in 2 days. So it won’t be the 10M platform that Bolton sought but more like a 3M springboard dive into sanctions.

You have to hand it to Bolton for agreeing to agree with other people. I’m sure it makes him cringe but he is slowly realizing that he is not President of the U.N.
