Bush Signs Unconstitutional Bill

In the desert mirage that is Bush’s world, he felt he did a monumental and great deed today that will help protect countless American lives. He did this by signing a bill that does not allow terrorist suspects the ability to appeal their detention. The only trial they can receive is that of military tribunal.

ACLU Executive Director, Anthony D. Romero said ”The president can now, with the approval of Congress, indefinitely hold people without charge, take away protections against horrific abuse, put people on trial based on hearsay evidence, authorize trials that can sentence people to death based on testimony literally beaten out of witnesses, and slam shut the courthouse door for habeas petitions.”

In typical grandiose fashion, Bush said “It is a rare occasion when a president can sign a bill that he knows will save American lives.  I have that privilege this morning.”

These are the type of bills that all americans should stand up and say that we have had enough of this. Its time to wake up. I and you should want all bill of rights and constituntional liberties guaranteed to us by our fore fathers have left for us. By the way if you have something to hide crap is horseradish. Our Congress is doing nothing and they should come home and work like the rest of us. That may soun dramatic but our forefathers went home and worked and met twice a year. We shouldn,t carry them anymore. Let’s see how they like it when they have to pay for insurance, gas etc.

T Jone-Yeah Congress might as well just meet twice a year because they sure as hell aren’t getting a whole lot done. The process is meant to be slow, but it’s not meant to do nothing and it’s not meant for lobbyists to write legislation, that’s for sure.

The point of two year terms for the House of Representatives, as written in The Federalist Papers was too allow for the people to enact rapid change if Congress became too corrupt. Congress has become too corrupt yet we re-elect most Congress people over and over again.

Hamilton and Madison also wrote that if we were dumb enough to not change the government, that we would deserve the tyranny we would fall under.
