This is one of the few good political advertisements we’ve seen this election year. Most are garbage, with little substance and are a waste of money. Thumbs up to Claire McCaskill, the Democratic nominee for Senate in Missouri, for running a political ad that actually means something.
The Republican party is the supposed Right to Life party and yet they oppose stem cell research that can save lives. Senator Jim Talent (R) of Missouri, is one of those hypocritical “Right to Lifers.”

Yesterday, former Enron CEO Jeff Skilling was sentenced to 24 years in the slammer for his involvement in doctoring the company’s record keeping. Skilling plans to appeal and still claims he is innocent of the charges.
Judge Simeon Lake had little sympathy for Skilling saying “As the many victims have testified, his crimes have imposed on hundreds if not thousands a life sentence of poverty.”
Skilling nearly set the record for the longest sentence ever given for a white collar crime. The record holder is Bernard Ebbers, former CEO of Worldcom, who received a 25 year sentence last year.

In 2004, Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman ran for the Democratic presidential nomination. When his poll numbers hit a whopping 15% he declared it Joementum. Unfortunately for Joe, his Mojo halted at that figure and he was forced to drop out of the race.

According to CNN, States such as Maryland will have electronic voting machines with no printed backup. All the voting information will be on disks and according to some analysts, the information on the disks can be manipulated. An example was given by placing a virus in the disk to successfully change the outcome of the votes.
