Are You in Line For a PS3 Yet?

No, these are not hippie bums protesting corporate America outside this Circuit City. Yes, they make look a little dirty but there’s a good reason. They have been camped out at this LA area store since Sunday, waiting for the debut of the Playstation 3 at midnight Friday.
If you haven’t been living in a tent outside a store that sells electronics you will be crap out of luck for getting one Friday. Sony has limited the initial supply of it’s newest game console to 400,000 in the USA. The initial demand is much higher, so by making it a complete pain in the ass for people to spend $500-$600 to get one, Sony is generating huge media buzz for their product.
People have been camping for days all over the country. If you want one and can’t afford to camp out or just don’t want to, you can buy one on Ebay on Friday for about $1,500. Ebay is restricting sales as well, only people with a high rating can sell and they can only sell one.
Ah, the total charade and buzz over this wonderful new toy. You just gotta love big business.
