Ohio Wakes Up to Their Interests
In 2004, the people of Ohio voted for George Bush and thus provided him another term in office. The decision was a critical mistake by the people of Ohio, who voted against their interests in a heavily manufacturing based economy.
Two additional years of Bush has seen more Ohio manufacturing jobs shipped overseas for cheaper labor. This time Ohio woke up and voted for change, ousting Republican Senator Mike Dewine for Democrat Sherrod Brown and electing new Democratic Governor Ted Strickland, ending a 16 year Republican reign in that post.
Ohio is a pivotal swing state in Presidential elections, they have voted for 25 of the last 27 Presidents who have won. George Bush also won the state in 2000. Ohio could have made the difference in that election as well. The state has clearly swung, as has the entire nation.
