Camel For Kids
Everyone remembers Joe Cool, Camel cigarettes poster boy cartoon for many years. Joe was smooth and winning and always smoking of course. After all, smoking was the essence of Joe Cool.
Joe Cool was a bit hit for RJ Reynolds and Camel. But the party ended as many complained he was too cartoonish and aimed at kids. Camel still has a Camel but now it’s just an ordinary one, hanging out in the desert with no cigarette. It’s not nearly as exciting or cool as it used to be.
So RJ Reynold’s and Camel have come out with a new gimmick. They are blank cigarette packs that you, the smoker, design. If your lucky, your very own design can be mass distributed to other smokers! How cool!
It’s not just a contest though, it’s so you, the adult, can have fun drawing on the packs. The cellophane outside the pack says things like “paint on me,” “mark on me,” “spray on me,” “glue on me,” “put photos on me” and “pencil on me.” If you haven’t seen this, it is no joke.
Who is this really aimed at here? Adults? We don’t think so. Nice one Big Tobacco, you just keep evolving around the rules.
