The Bolton Show Concludes
John Bolton has resigned as US ambassador to the UN after it became clear he would not receive the necessary Senate votes needed to continue. George Bush said “I am deeply disappointed that a handful of United States Senators prevented Ambassador Bolton from receiving the up or down vote he deserved in the Senate.”
Yeah, too bad they didn’t go through a huge process to see Bolton not get the votes and then have to go through the same fiasco again for some other dude.
Bolton’s diplomacy will be missed though. He once said that it wouldn’t matter if 10 of the UN building’s 38 floors were chopped off because there was so much sloth and incompetence there. By that analogy, we can conclude that it wouldn’t matter if some rooms of the White House were removed.
Bolton’s disdain for the UN while working there was somewhat amusing. It’s kinda like a pimply teenager saying “this place fuckin’ sucks”, but then staying on the job and wanting to continue with no end in sight. Good times.
