First off, big congrats to Nancy Pelosi on being the first female Speaker of the House. It was truly a historic moment to see her standing behind The Decider and next to a half dead Dick Cheney. And it was certainly very refreshing to see her sitting there instead of Dennis Hastert.

Nancy Pelosi, as the first female Speaker of the House, has broken down the old boys school of high power American politics. At first, she seemed gitty and delighted at the moment and so she should have been. Later on, as Bush babbled away, she seemed uncomfortable and torn on whether to stand and applaud or do what Dick was not doing, standing and applauding at everything, just like Denny Hastert did. She was playing a very fine line for sure.

The beginning was a great suck up by George Bush but we give him kudos for showing some class and respect for Nancy. Albeit, with dismal poll numbers, the least George could do was show some suckass to Madam Speaker.

Regardless of what people think of Nancy Pelosi’s ideology, there is no doubt she has more heart and soul than Denny Hastert. That is not difficult but that has to count for something. Thanks for not giving her the titty twirl boys.
