Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton: Cat Fight?

It was just a few years ago that Hillary Clinton seemed destined to possibly become the most powerful woman in the history of American politics. Yesterday, that honor was bestowed upon Nancy Pelosi, becoming the first female House Speaker ever.

Pelosi is now officially the most powerful woman in US politics. Unofficially, Hillary may have held that reign as President Bill Clinton’s wife. There were rumors abound that Hillary was helping Bill to make decisions behind closed doors. And let’s be real here, she surely made a few decisions just as every other First Lady probably has. Who knows, maybe the idea to invade Iraq was Laura Bush’s idea. Maybe a torn Gerald Ford asked Betty to make the decision on whether or not to pardon Richard Nixon. Any married guy out there will tell you that his wife likes to put their 2 cents in just about everything.

Regardless, Hillary is seeking to become the most powerful woman by being the first female President. But with so many Democratic contenders it doesn’t look so good for Hillary. And really, the most appealing part of seeing her as President would be having Slick Willy back in the White House as the first First Gentleman.

So one wonders, how does Hillary feel about Nancy stealing her sunshine? She has to be at least a bit envious. And we at Sirened wonder, will we get an old fashioned cat fight here?

I don’t think anyone will dominate considering there will be about 10 Democrats running in 2008. Also, this country needs REAL change and I don’t believe Hillary Clinton represents that. I would love to see a woman president but not her. Also, we’ve had too much Bush/Clinton for too long. Enough is enough, it’s undemocratic.
