Adios to Fear Monger Jerry Falwell
Well, we can take the “Wanted” part down for Jerry Falwell because he croaked yesterday of heart failure. Perhaps of evil heart failure.
Make no mistake, it’s terrible to wish death upon anybody, even your worst enemy, but this was a pretty rotten dude. This is the guy that blamed gays, the ACLU and pro-abortion activists for the attacks on 9/11. He believed it was God’s punishment on the US for its immoral behavior.
Ironically, Falwell was the founder of Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. That is kind of comical in a dark way and quite fitting for a man filled with hypocricy and bigotry.
Falwell may not have had a direct hand in mass killings like Osama Bin Laden did, but he certainly did have an indirect one in the mass killings in Iraq. Falwell was an avid Bush supporter and rallied a large fundamentalist turnout for him. A supposedly devout religious man, Falwell supported the Iraq war, viewing the prophet Mohammed as a terrorist himself.
If the Bush administration has been run by Big Business, and it has, it has been equally run by the fundamentalist Christian right and an agenda equal in terror and fear as that of 9/11. Good riddens Jerry.

This is ridiculous! A man has a right to his beliefs, even if they are crazy sometimes. I didn’t agree with everything Rev. Falwell said, but I admire him for stainding up for what he believed was right. he did not hide behind anyone or anything, and that by itself makes him a great man.
Jesus Loves You!!
“he did not hide behind anyone or anything, and that by itself makes him a great man.”-By this logic we can also conclude that Adolph Hitler was a great man. He was a little crazy too sometimes, but big deal right?
Grace-Thanks for letting me know that Jesus still loves me but I think the verdict is still out on that one.
Alex, I’ve often heard that history favors the victors. Not to agree with anything Adolph did or Rev. Falwell said, however isn’t it possible that Adolph was a great man? After all, he did loose the war. Maybe history would have remembered him differently if he’d won…
Tina-Interesting comment. Yes, history does tend to favor the victors but it also tends to become more accurate the more years pass.
Hitler did things to revive a German economy that was hampered by the sanctions of World War I. But then he got a little whacky to say the least.
Had Germany won, Hitler would have seemed like a great man to many, but as the years passed and the truth of the atrocities commited were further unearthed, the history would have been revearsed.
But let’s make no mistake, every super power commits atrocities upon mankind.
