Support the Troops: Bring Them Home
Yesterday we celebrated Memorial Day. Most of us took the day off to barbeque, sit around, shop or all of the above. Meanwhile, on this day of leisure for most of us, American troops were still dying in a war we are constantly being lied to about.
Many of the lies about Iraq have evolved into minor truths, like the official admission of a civil war there, but we are still being lied to on a daily basis. In the beginning, it was viewed as being un-American to not support going to war against a guy whom our president’s daddy had beef with. Yeah there was “intelligence” but let’s be real here, this whole thing was a sham from the beginning.
I used to be against term limits but now I see why they were implemented, to insure that destructive war mongers like Dick and Bush do not stay in power.
The struggle for democracy in Iraq is their struggle and most of them do not want us there. We have occupied them for over 4 years now. How would you feel if people who looked different to us and worshiped a different God to us came here and took over and said they had no plans to leave? I think you’d be pretty pissed too, you may even want to blow something up.
Wanting the troop’s home is supporting them. And aside from our troops we have to do what’s best for other citizens of the world too, and that means not killing them. Then again, it’s not like our opinion matters, only ‘The Decider’ decides what’s best.
