Clarence Thomas Has Sold Out the Black Race

Clarence Thomas Has Sold Out the Black Race

This is the face of a man that has sold out his own race. Yesterday, Clarence Thomas voted with the majority of the Supreme Court in the 5-4 decision against school integration programs in Louisville and Savannah.
Basically, the white kids need to be separate from the black kids, no child left behind, separate but equal right? Obviously, Clarence Thomas, a black man from Savannah, Georgia believes that this is a fundamentally sound idea for the future of our nation.
Yeah, it’s complicated but when you boil it down we have a system of no white child left behind. And that is far from …read more

Gravel Flames Out in Last Night’s Debate!

Gravel Flames Out in Last Night’s Debate!

We previously showed the video of Democratic candidate Mike Gravel staring into the camera for a minute before throwing a huge rock in a pond. Here is the other crazy video he shot, the one where he lights some branches on fire and they subsequently proceed to burn on camera for a solid 7 minutes. Feel free to not watch the whole thing! Once they start burning you won’t miss anything.
Gravel totally went senile at last night’s debate at Howard University right from the get go. He went totally off topic twice as he lashed out on the war …read more

Democrats Forced to Address Minority Issues: Oh Shit!

Democrats Forced to Address Minority Issues: Oh Shit!

Last night the Democrats held their third debate at Howard University, an African American University in Washington, DC. The timing of the debate was ironic as it came the same night that the Supreme Court made a 5-4 decision that could lead to the re-segregation of schools. After all, Bush has a no white child left behind view on education.
So the 8 Democratic candidates found themselves staring at a large audience of educated African Americans who were wondering, what exactly do you plan on doing to help our cause?
In one of the most poignant moments of the debate, Hillary Clinton said …read more

Crack Open the Bubbly Big Business!

Crack Open the Bubbly Big Business!

The Supreme Court awarded another big victory for ‘Big Business’ and an uppercut loss to consumers. In another 5-4 decision where Anthony Kennedy cast the deciding the vote, the court ruled to overturn a 96 year ban on price floors.
For the past 96 years it has been illegal for manufacturers and distributors to set minimum retail prices because it was viewed as a violation of antitrust laws. Not anymore! Now manufacturers can set the minimum price on goods to be sold by retailers. Justice Stephen Breyer spoke on behalf of the 4 dissenting judges saying “I do not believe that the majority has shown new or changed …read more

The Secrets Men Keep-Dick’s 4th Branch

The Secrets Men Keep-Dick’s 4th Branch

That was what Dick Cheney actually said about Iraq over two years ago. Did he really believe that? I don’t think so, he is far from stupid. Here we are two years later, with more troops, stuck in a war that is already lost.
The thing Dick Cheney does best is keep secrets and nothing angers him more than any kind of transparency, even when that in itself is a secret. He has recently come under fire from the National Archives for refusing to give them documents for the simple sake of record keeping. By law, the executive branch is required to give …read more

Camel Lobbying the Smokers Themselves

Camel Lobbying the Smokers Themselves

I am a smoker and because Camel cigarettes marketing scheme is largely based on giving out free smokes at bars and sending coupons, I am on their mailing list. And I like being on their mailing list because hell, who doesn’t like to save money.
Thing is, when you save money on cigarettes it does not discourage you to stop smoking or smoke less. The obvious motivation to quit is for health reasons and I have quit before, only to pick it up again.
But I just received an email from Camel that bothered me, even as a smoker. The email is warning us that …read more

Supreme Court Feels Campaign Money Should Flow Like Niagara Falls

Supreme Court Feels Campaign Money Should Flow Like Niagara Falls

Today the Supreme Court ruled that campaign contributions should be able to flow like the waters of Niagara Falls. By a 5-4 vote the Supreme Court found that suppressing the ridiculous amount of political TV ads was unconstitutional.
The Supreme Court ruling puts the future of the Campaign Finance Reform Act of 2002 into serious question. It once again opens the flood gates for Big Business to pour even more money towards political ads. It’s another huge score for Big Business in the new John Roberts/puppet of George Bush led Supreme Court.
With the Democrats in control of Congress, we are seeing the legislative branch become less relevant in our historically …read more

Hilldog Imitates ‘Sopranos’ Finale

Hilldog Imitates ‘Sopranos’ Finale

Hillary Clinton’s campaign slogan is “Let the Conversation Begin”. If by that she means people should be discussing her potential rise to power so far away from the election, it’s awfully conceded.
She held an online contest to decide a theme song for her campaign. The winner: “You and I” by Celine Dion, a French Canadian no less.
Anyways, this little clip that announces the winner includes Bill Clinton and is a parody of the ‘Sopranos’ final episode. John Stewart put it best the other night saying that he found it ironic that they would re-create the image of …read more

A Minimum Wage Based on Age?

A Minimum Wage Based on Age?

Since the Bush administration took power, there are a multitude of things that have gone backwards in this country ranging from healthcare, education and the foreign policy of trying not to kill people. Subsequently, we’re hearing many ideas from the presidential candidates on a number of issues. But asides from John Edwards and his $400 haircut, no other candidate is addressing the issue of poverty.
Now, when you bring up poverty, many people say hey, why should we be giving out handouts? Well, addressing the issue of poverty and subsequently crime, since poverty often breeds crime, is much more than just talking about giving away money.
We have …read more

Blogging, Jobbing and Big Bucks Lindsay Lohan sites

Blogging, Jobbing and Big Bucks Lindsay Lohan sites

Since I just wrote way too much about myself I wanted to take a moment to mention b5media which in just 2 short years has become one of the largest global blog networks. There was this recent NY Times article on jobs in blogging and b5media received a good amount of coverage in the piece.
Apparently the biggest b5media site is Lohan Groupie, a site devoted to Lindsay Lohan and her “fans.” Websites on celebrities like Lohan, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton generate huge traffic in the blogosphere. After all, who doesn’t like to read stories on slutty, drunk and over privileged lasses prancing about? And who doesn’t …read more
