7 Facts About ‘The Sirened’

Last week, fellow b5media writer Lynn Rodriquez of The Paris Traveler tagged me to write 7 facts about myself. I did not initially partake in the tagging, not because I have anything against talking about myself but because I’m not a big fan of tagging. But I noticed that writer Paul Springer of Starked SF has participated in his tag and not tagged anyone else. So I will follow suit and do the same here.
1) I was born in Toronto, Canada and currently reside in Tampa, FL.
2) I have 3 Citizenships: American, Canadian and Greek. My mother was born in Buffalo, NY and my Dad was born in Greece. Very similar places! I’ve lived in the USA for 90% of my life though.
3) I received a BA in History and minor in Political Science from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, FL. I went on to do post graduate studies in the MBA program there but left it to move to Australia.
4) I lived in Melbourne, Australia for 1 year and my wife is Australian. I met my wife at a youth hostel in Bruges, Belgium. I’m hoping to get that 4th citizenship!
5) I am 28 years old and have traveled to 28 countries. I could not possibly pick an overall favorite but my favorite for food is Thailand, scenery would be Switzerland and the country I would most not trade the experience of visiting would be Vietnam. And my favorite for wives is Belgium.
6) While living in Australia I created an All American “thumbs up” album. The point was to emulate an American leader/tourist who didn’t know what the hell was going on-kinda like President Bush when he travels. There is a mostly domestic online version of this on Flickr.
7) I am a huge fan of Stephen Colbert and my first blog (which I no longer write on) Alex in the USA has an uber American patriotism feel-like Colbert’s show. He would say I was riding his coat tails but I did start my All American album before the Colbert Report debuted. Anyways, thumbs up Stephen!

Alex, I didn’t even know what tagging was until last week when I was tagged! But as I told Paul….you do find out some interesting things about your fellow bloggers!
I love Bruges, but I’ll bet your wife hopes you don’t go back to Belgium!
