Wow, look at that pool! And look at that American guard, ready to kill or be killed. These two images that were released by Berger Devine Yaeger (the site is currently down) have been deemed to not be sensitive information according to the State Department. After all, it’s just a pool and just an American soldier that can easily be replaced.

Initially, the mid western architectural company released many more images of our new “embassy.” But after just a day the State department became furious because the plans were classified and asked that Berger take it down. Nice work again, clearly we made a smart decision about who to give this contract to. Apparently Berger Devine Yaeger has built some cool religious compounds as well.

Tom Dispatch has a good article on this “embassy” and what it means for Iraq and us. It basically means we are going to be there for a very, very long time. Or until we get kicked out, the fort gets taken over by extremists and we are forced to bomb the compound we built. It really doesn’t seem that far fetched actually.
