The B5Media network:

Clinton and Edwards Said They Would Work For Minimum Wage

The Youtube debates just concluded and one of the questions addressed minimum wage. The question was whether the candidates would work for minimum wage as President? Chris Dodd said no because he has two children. Both Hillary and Edwards said they would work for minimum wage. It was quite noble for two extremely wealthy Americans to answer a hypothetical question that would never happen.

Obama said that they could all work for minimum wage because they could afford to, including Chris Dodd, who then retorted that he wasn’t as well off as some of the others. Poor Chris Dodd, lots of questions were asked, but what about a subsidy for less well off senators like Chris Dodd?

Great answers by the candidates on the minimum wage issue, but a better question would have been “Could you live on earning the minimum wage (and no book deals, speach fees, $25,00 lunches, etc.) while President? I suspect the answers would be a bit different.

I know right! Forget the salary they make, they have a private airplane and helicopter to take them everywhere, they stay in the absolute best of places while conducting “business” and can eat lavish meals for free all the time. When you consider that minimum wage isn’t so bad!
