#2 Republican Fred Thompson Still Not Officially Running
Fred Thompson has been solidly running #2 in national Republican polls but he’s still not officially running, while actually running for several months now. Some speculate that he has not made an official announcement so NBC can continue to air his Law and Order reruns and he can receive his royalty checks. Plus, while not officially running, he can comfortably sit in the #2 slot without doing a whole hell of a lot. Pretty sweet.
But his website I’mWithFred has been up for months and accepting donations for a campaign that doesn’t exist yet. The site is nice and simple, much like Fred and really, anybody who would possibly support this guy.
The ”I’m with Fred” site is actually pretty entertaining though. You can watch videos of him talking about what government is and the role of checks and balances. If this guy gets elected it will be a seriously sad state of affairs for this country, then again I said that about Bush in 2000 and again in 2004. Can America possibly elect another folksy dumbass to be our next ‘Decider?’
