Fight the Ticket Master In The NFL

Looking to catch Michael Vick and the dirty birds in action this year? Unfortunately, we won’t get to watch the most exciting non-quarterback to play quarterback in the history of the NFL because of his decision to be a two sport athlete: non quarterback and dog fighting ringmaster.

But if you want to see twice exiled but “true” quarterback Joey Harrington lead the Atlanta Falcons to a losing season, you can get some very reasonable tickets on Stubhub.com .

Every NFL fan knows that NFL tickets are generally the most expensive of the major American sports for the obvious reason that they play far fewer games (ironically they also employee the most players). It’s all supply and demand and in some cities and for some games, the demand is too high to get good deals.

That isn’t the case in Atlanta this year and some other NFL markets like Buffalo however. So if your looking to catch an NFL game and your in one of these markets please do not use Ticketmaster. You might as well flush your money down the toilet.

I recently bought 3 tickets for the Buffalo Bills vs. Tennessee Titans preseason game on Stubhub and paid what amounted to $9 a ticket for seats in the 16th row including the Stubhub service charge and Fedex 2 day shipping. An unbelievable deal to watch the NFL, regardless of whether or not the game counts!

The face value of the tickets is $38, it would be higher but it’s preseason and Buffalo is one of the cheaper NFL markets. So just on the face value of the 3 tickets I saved $87! Had I gone to Ticketmaster and bought them, they would have tacked on an additional $5 per ticket service charge and I would have had to pick up the tickets at will call or pay to have them emailed to me. So really, I saved over $100 by using stubhub for this event.

Stubhub also offers a fan protect guarantee, so in the unlikely event you receive fraudulent tickets from a seller you can call 1-866-Stubhub and they will sort out your situation right then and there.

But it’s all supply and demand so Stubhub isn’t always a brilliant deal as ticket scalpers also use the site. But if it’s just a regular game and you want to go, there’s a good chance some season ticket holder who can’t make that game is looking to dump their tickets at a cheaper price. So it’s absolutely always worth checking out.

Fight the Ticket Master, don’t use them in situations where there are better alternatives.

The ways that I hate Ticketmaster are endless. How can they charge more to let you print your tickets out online than to send them to you via the mail.

And when did those damn convenience charges get to damned inconvenient?!
