Kids really need to think twice about taking out loans for school considering the big interest hikes under the Bush administration. But the rates change and with a Dem in office they can bring the rates back down. They were at historic lows previous. I don't think the Iraq war is the most important issue because eventually (shortly after Bush leaves) we will leave. I think health care, education and the economy are all equally important. Bush's no child left behind has been "no white child left behind" and a miserable failure. We need a Dem to fix this stuff. I do like Paul's belief in stronger states rights because some states have vastly different cultures. You can argue that states like Oregon and Utah should be apart of seperate countries. And yes Paul does have the most consistent voting record and is probably the most honest person running but at the end of the day he is not the right guy for the future of the country. Why not choose the best of their candidates which is for sure Ron Paul. I love his philosophy on foreign policy. He is spot on correct in everything I've heard him say in that regard. Problem is that he would continue the vast discrepency of wealth in this country. He doesn't believe in student loans so lots of kids would get left out in higher education. Plus there are the Supreme Court nominations, the court is just slightly right but he can swing it VASTLY right and abortion could become illegal. Also, more deregulation of business practices would adversely affect consumers. I don't believe he could get the income tax abolished anyway, just don't think it would pass through Congress. Tax money just needs to be used more responsibly, we need to get rid of this profiteering off health care and Ron Paul would for sure do nothing about that. The Dems may not either but the effort could be there, it needs to be there. Every other industrial country that has universal health care finds our system absurd. And it really is, it's disgusting.
