Who Cares About Other News? “Juice 2″ is Here!

The Beginning of Sure, there is a lot going on in the world right now just like there always is, but does any of it really matter at the moment with the unveiling of this falls biggest hit TV series “Juice 2: I Didn’t Do It But Don’t You Dare Take My Shit Or Leave This Room.” Everyone is going gaga over this reality sequel that is all over the airwaves, it’s sure to continue to be a hit filled with slimy mystery, outrageous laughs and OJ Simpson getting off scott free.

At first I didn’t think very much of this since OJ frequently has little run-ins with the law- stuff like his daughter and girlfriend calling 911 on him, stealing DirectTV and the road rage incident for example. But as more details began to unfold it became clear that “Juice 2″ was finally happening.

I must admit, I’m not normally into reality TV, whether it truly is “real” or not. But this is different because it brings back childhood memories of “Juice 1.” I remember being in my high school home economics class when someone yelled out in the hallway “the juice is loose!” after the jury found him not guilty. And it’s almost too good to be true here because this sequel does not involve the drama of “Juice 1″ which was a bummer at times being that 2 people were murdered and all. Sure there was great comic relief provided by Kato Kaelin and LAPD fuck ups and what not but the plot was a little too dark. “Juice 2″ has all the circus-like atmosphere of “Juice 1″ without the heavy stuff.

This is just your typical robbers, robbers and cops story. It’s a story of someone taking OJ’s shit, him trying to recover it with goons and weapons and the sleazy felon who recorded the whole thing. The rest of the storyline will take care of itself over the next few months.

And it’s sure to be exciting with the media watching OJ’s every move, just like “Juice 1.” But in that one OJ was behind bars much of the time, for “Juice 2″ they have allowed him to fly back to Miami where people can view him in his natural environment. This element of the story should add a dimension that the original did not have.

Some people might think OJ waited too long to release the sequel to “Juice 1″ but this should only add to its popularity and cult following. There are even some returning cast members from the original like former prosecuting attorney Marcia Clark who was in the courtroom with OJ yesterday as she is now a reporter for “Entertainment Tonight.” And after OJ’s bail hearing helicopters followed his car back to his Palms hotel room where he went to collect his things (much less dramatic than the last time he tried to get his stuff). This brought back memories of the scene in “Juice 1″ where OJ and Al Cowlings were being chased down the highway in the infamous white Bronco.

Now I’ll be honest, I think the end of “Juice 2″ is a bit predictable, OJ is sure to get off so he can take time to conjure up “Juice 3.” It might be something like ”Yes I Did Pay All My Taxes and No I Have Not Hidden Any Money in Overseas Bank Accounts.” That would otherwise be lame but it’s OJ so it’s certain to have loads of seedy plot twists.

[...] Well, the writers are on strike, OJ is back in the courtroom and wouldn’t you know, it’s on TV…again! Back when all this initially went down in September I wrote that this would be the falls biggest TV hit.  [...]
