Well, it’s Halloween and hopefully everyone will enjoy giving out some candy, seeing some smiling children’s faces and then watching them leave, not to return to rape you of delicious chocolates until next year. Here we see Stephen Colbert on Meet The Press with Tim Russert back on October 21st discussing his presidential bid (sponsored by delicious and zesty nacho cheese Doritos). Last night, Tim Russert, along with NBC nightly news anchor Brian Williams moderated a democratic debate at Drexel University on MSNBC. Problem was, Stephen Colbert was the only candidate that did not attend, along with Mike Gravel, but he does not count since he is polling much further down than zesty nacho cheese Doritos themselves.

Sunday on CBS’s 60 Minutes Pakistan’s President, Hamid Karzai said he demands that the US stop using air strikes on his country. He said that back in August when he came to Washington he asked ‘The Decider’ privately that the US stop bombing his country. But since Bush decided that it would continue, Karzai felt compelled to go to the US media and tell the American people about it.

When the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants took the field at Wembley Stadium in London this past Sunday, it marked the first time that a regular season NFL game was ever played in Europe. It was a pretty exciting event aside from the fact that Miami ended up entering the game 0-7 and after the game was played there was a lot left to be desired. In fact, the London crowd booed while the NY Giants knelt to end the game while ahead 13-10 in the final seconds.

In all fairness to French Prez Nicolas Sarkozy, clearly he was going through a rough time as his wife was leaving him. But it’s interesting to see the man who is working to re-strengthen US-French relations go totally nutso because he has to sit down for 10 minutes. This “conservative” Frenchman whom republicans have been praising (even though he is still more liberal than Hillary Clinton whom they’ve labeled an evil socialist who will make this country poor if elected president) thinks very highly of the United States and what we apparently stand for.

The arguments for and against the decriminalization of marijuana and the legalization and subsequent abuse of medical marijuana continues to grow. Personally, I believe our criminal justice system should be focusing on more important things than prosecuting some random stoner who got busted smoking a doobie at a Snoop Dogg concert. But now that medical marijuana is becoming more available for more ailments in the US and the world, many critics argue that people are abusing the system.

Yesterday, Condi “needs good dickin” Rice and company laid more ground work for a potential WWIII with harsh sanctions against Iran. The sanctions which are aimed at crippling Iran’s economy into giving up their nuclear enrichment program will definitely do more harm than good in regards to Iraq and perhaps beyond.
One of the root causes of terrorism is poverty as many suicide bombers families are paid large sums of money when the father or mother decides to detonate themselves in a public place. George Carlin is the undisputed king of social and political comedy and has influenced the likes of John Stewart, Stephen Colbert, Bill Maher and Dennis Miller. This is his appearance on Countdown just 2 days ago in which he addressed a variety of pressing issues with typical Carlin wit and humor.
One lighter issue discussed is Stephen Colbert’s run for president. One poll actually has Colbert polling 5th among democrats! And he’s only just behind Joe Biden for 4th place.
Colbert hasn’t announced a running mate just yet. Perhaps a Colbert/Carlin ticket?

“We want to appeal to consumers who haven’t tried Taco Bell, for whom this would be their first experience with Taco Bell.” That was the statement made by Javier Rancano, Taco Bell’s director in Mexico on the opening of a Taco Bell in Mexico City on October 9th. A common comparison to this business decision is that of bringing ice to Eskimos.
One thing different from Taco Bell’s in the US to Taco Bell in Mexico is that french fries are on the menu, this AmeroMexican fusion of shitty cuisine will certainly stand out in Mexico’s capital.
