Mike Huckabee and Barack Obama Lead in Iowa Polls

Mike HuckabeeFormer Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee has officially become a presidential contender to be taken seriously (I believe he has swapped places with Fred Thompson here). Huckabee is rockin’ Iowa now as the latest poll shows him 5 points ahead of Mormon liberal Mitt Romney. Huckabee is currently polling at 29% to Romney’s 24%. Rudy ‘9/11′ who leads republican national polls is only registering 13% in Iowa. Huckabee’s lead in Iowa can be largely credited to his lack of insanity and retarded ness compared to most of his opponents.Barack Obama, Iowa

Barack Obama, who has been referred to as “Osama” by Mitt Romney, is showing that the Clinton’s political meat grinder has not minced him completely just yet. Among Iowa democrats, Obama is currently registering at 28% to Hillary’s 25% and surprisingly Mr. $400 haircut ‘populist’ John Edwards is still kicking here at 23%. Hillary still leads nationally but Obama is closing the gap so expect the Clinton’s to turn that meat grinder up a notch. If that doesn’t work, perhaps they can throw the remnants of his campaign into Ron Popeil’s juice maker.

Barack Obama living the Oprah dream from here.

Huckabee is the “real deal” conservative in the Ronald Reagan image. He’s America’s best hope!

Surprisingly, Huckabee appears to be getting that support in spite of big name endorsements from the Christian right. Considering he’s the first Republican leader, probably ever, that has a serious chance at winning *and* would give the social right wing what it wants when he got into power, I’m surprised that people like Pat Robertson haven’t changed their minds regarding endorsements.

    Bob Anderson-Thanks for commenting.

Toronto Traveler-Good point. Pat Robertson’s endorsement of Rudy 9/11 was pretty surprising but now that Robertson has gotten so old and crusty I think he really wants the biblical end of days to happen. And of the major candidates, perhaps he feels that Rudy is most likely to start the war to end all wars and allow the Messiah to return, or lower his taxes, whichever comes first.

Yeah, I’ve long ago given up trying to figure out how Robertson’s mind works strategy-wise, although it really does seem like endorsing Huckabee now should be a no brainer for any religious right leader that hasn’t already said something on this issue.

I don’t think Pat Robertson knows how his mind works these days either. Then again, I’m not sure his mind ever really ‘worked’ to begin with!

But seriously, I really think Huckabee has an excellent chance to win the republican nomination. He needs more money but I think he’ll start getting it.

Mr. Blount-Barack Obama did have the audacity to write “The Audacity of Hope.” And it’s not like he had the audacity to write that to make money or help launch his presidential bid.

I’ve narrowed it down to Huckabee (my favorite since the first time I heard him in a debate) and Ron Paul.

I believe Paul is just this side of insane, but his foreign policy thoughts are interesting and refreshing. Not the same old, same old.

Foreign policy is my sticking point with Huckabee. Will anything change if we elect him? I’m afraid not and I’m also afraid more of the same may doom this country.

    Travis-Thanks for the comment.

The whole Iraq situation is a nice mess for the next president to deal with. Bush might as well take a big steamy dump in the oval office on his way out and say hey “You clean this shit up, I’m going to go back to being a rich guy who doesn’t have to deal with all this president stuff.”

We can’t really be sure what the next president will do. But I certainly hope they place more emphasis on fixing some domestic problems rather than playing grab ass with Israel all day.

I am so glad Huckabee did well in Iowa, he is the one I will vote for. I see no other candidate who has the good moral character he has. I voted for Bush because he has that too, and I am so happy Huckabee brings such dignity into the 08 race.

Betty-You are a total fool that has her head buried in the sand, like a lot of our American troops thanks to no morals George Bush and his corrupt incompetence, masked in religious bullshit.

Sir, thank you for your opinion, but I have to cook for my man right now. Good night.

Betty, you said you have a bunch of studying to do on politics and society.

Here’s a book for you. Read Joseph Heller’s “Catch-22″ to understand what war is really all about. It’s fiction but you’re used to that anyways.

Betty is just a misguided person. Let’s spend more money killing Iraqi’s and then rebuilding the rubble while there is so much decay and suffering in the USA.
Betty it is best to first engage the brain before speaking.
Huckabee is unelectable. Mark my words!

DH-Yeah there is no hope for people like Betty. They will live in ignorance all their lives.

If it wasn’t for German soldiers/citizens following the orders of the Nazi regime the holocaust never would have happened. But nope, they were all Hail Hitler! Hail Germany! Whatever the leadership says is good for the mother country is what I stand by!

That is Betty’s logic on the world.
