Mike Huckabee Takes His First Lead in National Polls

United States Map

Turns out that little stint in the hospital really cost Rudy ‘9/11′ Giuliani. By simply repeating 9/11 over and over again, Rudolph had been in front of the republican pack from the get-go. He seemed so much a sure thing that even crazy fundamentalist Pat Robertson endorsed the pro-choice, pro-gay former mayor. And Rudy gladly and shamelessly took it with a big smile.

But then people started hearing more about this Mike Huckabee guy who was born in Hope, Arkansas and used to govern that state. Sound familiar? Yeah, Bill Clinton did both those things too. Although I think he banged a lot more chicks in the process.

Recent polls had shown Huckabee taking the lead in Iowa but a new poll shows he has taken the national lead with 24%. Rudolph 9/11 stands second at 22% followed by Romney and ‘Walnuts’ with 16% and 15%. Of course, the national polls don’t matter as much as winning Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina and proving that you are a political winner. It’s pretty cool how our long, expensive and big-hoopla ‘50 state’ primaries are actually decided by like 3 of them.

Recently Huckabee and ‘the Mormon’ have been going at it over pardoning criminals when they were governors. Romney accused Huckabee of personally allowing murderers back on the streets while ‘The Huck’ said Romney is a heartless bastard because he never pardoned a single person as governor of Massachusetts.

Ah, things are finally getting nice and juicy! Just don’t let Larry Craig pour the eggnog at Christmas.

Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing who evangelicals would choose between a Mormon and a woman…ah well.
