Barack Obama or Michael Jackson? John McCain or “Charlie?”

Barack Obama or Michael Jackson? John McCain or “Charlie?”

This is a picture of Barack Hussein Obama and Michelle Obama from the 1980’s. Is it just me or does Barack kinda look like Michael Jackson before Michael turned himself into a freakishly weird white man? Given the striking resemblance, could Barack Obama potentially pull a thriller and exhibit the same type of weird behavior as president of the United States of America? Can we as a nation afford this?
Also, have you heard that Obama’s middle name is Hussein!?! You know, same name as that guy we’ve spent hundreds of billions to topple and then we had him hung by …read more

Clean Out Your Colon-Beans

Clean Out Your Colon-Beans

If you have a Yahoo! or Hotmail account you’ve probably been getting a lot of spam lately to clean out your colon. Among other things, apparently this is becoming a weight loss fad.
According to the spam I receive, cleaning out your colon can prevent colon cancer. So it got me thinking…is a colon cleanse right for me? Perhaps, but I don’t want to buy their products and I don’t have to. I’m not sure if this is in Kevin Trudeau’s book Natural Cures (that I have not read) but I came up with the perfect solution.
Now if only there was …read more

Politics Aside: The Great Cuba Debate

Politics Aside: The Great Cuba Debate

This is a guest contribution from Heather Takacs who writes for TheNewYorkCityTraveler.com, a wonderful site to check out if you’re planning a trip to New York City. Heather provides great insight into current New York attractions and news. With Fidel Castro’s recent resignation, Heather wanted to share her personal perspective with Sirened.
It was nearly 2am in New York when I sent a text message to my friend, Orlando. “Breaking news, Castro resigns.” I quickly typed wondering what kind of reaction my Cuban-born friend would have. I waited only a few seconds before his response came, “Wow. Only …read more

Jon Stewart-2008 Oscars

We have to stay the course with Iraq war films by keeping them in theaters; otherwise the audience will become emboldened…

Ralph Nader 08′

Ralph Nader 08′

Woohoo! Yesterday, after months of speculation Ralph Nader officially announced he will be running for president of 3rd place in the 2008 presidential election. Nader, who in 2000 botched Al Gore’s bid to be president, was not deterred from running again in 2004 and taking many John Kerry votes in the critical state of Ohio.
Barack Obama commented yesterday saying that in 2000 Ralph Nader said there was no difference between George Bush and Al Gore and because of that he clearly doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
I’ll interject an embarrassing personal truth here that I’ll probably take some heat for. …read more

Jerry Springer- “Media and Society”

Jerry Springer- “Media and Society”

About a month ago Jerry Springer paid a visit to the University of South Florida, where my Aussie wife worked. We’d had the discussion before, I’d said time and again that Jerry Springer should not be shown in other countries. During my travels I met several foreigners (including my wife) who not only said they’d watched Springer, but had the seen the very same episode where a man is so fat that a wall needs to be torn down to remove him from his bedroom. Seriously, does the world really need to watch that?
Anyways, my wife being an actual Springer …read more

Obama’s Rise to Fuel Republican Racist Strategies?

Obama’s Rise to Fuel Republican Racist Strategies?

The following is a guest contribution from Paul Springer who writes for Starked SF. Starked SF is an excellent assortment of Bay area news, celebrity gossip and political and social commentary and satire. The following post is Paul’s take on what may transpire in what appears to be a head on collision between John McCain and Barack Obama.

Unlike the Dems, Republicans will do anything to win, regardless of whether it’s legal and/or ethical. Think about what they did to Bill Clinton over SemenGate or John Kerry over his lack of enthusiasm for killing Vietnamese.

Now think about what they’ll …read more

Hillary Attacks Obama, Then Plagiarizes Husband

Hillary Attacks Obama, Then Plagiarizes Husband

Last night was Hillary’s last debate stand against Obama and it certainly needed to go much better for her. Attacking Obama for plagiarizing a couple sentences and then doing the same thing herself isn’t quite going to get the job done. Nice try though Hill’s!

NY Times: Did John McCain Have an Affair?

NY Times: Did John McCain Have an Affair?

The NY Times just published an interesting story where they speculate that John McCain may have had an affair during his 2000 run for president. The article is entitled For McCain, Self-Confidence on Ethics Poses its Own Risk.
The lucky lady? Lobbyist Vicki Iseman (although she denies having an affair with McCain). Really? If she would just fess up despite whether it’s true or not, that would make for a fantastic book deal.
Apparently The NY Times (who endorsed John McCain in the republican primaries) squabbled internally about whether to run this story. They’ve held on to it for months and decided …read more
