Get Ready to Take Your Gun to Work Florida!
Get ready Florida…soon it’s going to be bring your gun to work day…every day! The Florida state senate voted 26-13 on to a bill to prohibit workplaces from barring employees on packing heat. Specifically, employers will not be able to ban workers from bringing a gun to work and keeping it in their car; so long as Gov. Charlie Crist signs the bill into law which he is expected to do.
The National Rifle Association has been lobbying Tallahassee for 3 years to allow disgruntled postal workers to have take your gun to work day everyday. A Pasco county republican official, Bill Bunting said “If John K. Jerk comes onto a property trying to do harm, it would be nice to know a responsible employee can run out into his car and help alleviate the problem.” Perhaps, but this argument is premised on two things 1)that the employee can get to his car and 2)that he gives a shit to actually come back.
Also, it should be noted that Florida has some lax criminal laws pertaining to property ownership that allow people like OJ Simpson and others like him (only not famous) to have a tropical safe haven in the sunshine state. Seems like a wonderful little cocktail Florida is stirring up here!

I wonder what the libertarian-minded types think about that law? They tend to be massively pro-gun, but at the same time they must be pissed at the government essentially regulating private business.
I’d love to hear what one of them has to say about that law.
Yeah this is a pretty complex issue since most businesses do not want their employees taking guns to work. Subsequently, there has been a right-right debate between pro-gun and pro-business lobbyists.
As with anything, don’t count Big Business out, their planning to sue the state over this.
The best fights are between different parts of the right or left wing. Intra-ideological fighting is by far the most entertaining in my view.
I think your right on that. I really enjoyed watching the republicans debate and argue who was the real conservative. At the Ronald Reagan library they were all calling each other liberals…Great stuff!
Yeah, that stuff was hilarious. Even the stuff now between Clinton and Obama is entertaining to me, although I guess the rank and file Democrat or the person that wants a Democrat to win because of the last 8 years is depressed at what is going on, lol.
