Of course, this is after his goons tried to get 700 billion blank check dollars for the corporate overlords to do as they wished. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, who would have otherwise been accountable to nobody, is a former CEO for Goldman Sachs.

I guess Bush and company were hoping that Congress wouldn’t read this thing and just say, ok here is your 700 billion dollars Mr. Decider. Then when Congress actually read the proposal and had issues and questions, the administration was like you guys need to pass this like yesterday otherwise people will be eating rats off the street tomorrow.

Then after it became clear that Congress would not simply roll over for Bush, he became willing to make some concessions (like adhering to the constitution for a change). So given the magnitude of the event, Bush kinda felt compelled to come out and try to explain how everything got all screwed up.

Bush’s tone was interesting, much more mellow than some of his previous addresses on big events like RAH, Scary Terrorists, RAH, 9-11, RAH, Mass Destruction, RAH, Dick Cheney eats babies, RAH. Don’t get me wrong, he still does a good job of trying to scare us shit less, the tone was just down a notch.

Though I’m confused because John McCain said the fundamentals of the economy are strong.

Post from: Sirened

Oil Drilling Vote: The Kansas City Shuffle

George Bush

Politics

The masters of the universe are at it again, acting to dismantle environmental regulations while John Q. Gustav is a name of Scandinavian and German origin, meaning “staff of the Goths,” and has been the name of six Swedish kings. Thus, we are indirectly at war with Sweden.

Gustav has already been a thorn in the ass of McCain and the GOP, landing right at the start of their convention. Hmm, is Gustav a sign of some sort? I think it was Pat Robertson who said that Hurricane Katrina was God’s punishment on America for being too nice to the gays. So what is God saying with Gustav?

Perhaps God is trying to tell us that America is swirling in the right direction, and thus John McCain can be the only logical choice for freedom loving Americans who hate Nazi’s and Arabs named Guztav. Though republicans have to be relieved that there is a legitimate excuse for George Bush and Dick Cheney to not show up at this week’s RNC. Republicans were kinda scratching their heads about what to do with America’s two biggest war criminals at their convention…thanks Gustav.

And on a side note, I am also declaring war on the Carolina Hurricanes hockey team who won the Stanley Cup 3 seasons ago when they beat my beloved Buffalo Sabres in 7 games in the Eastern conference finals. So to recap, we have declared war on hurricanes, people named Gustav, Sweden and the Carolina Hurricanes.

Post from: Sirened

Paul Springer: The Other New Sirened Writer

George Bush

Iraq

Politics

War on Terror

I’m Paul Springer, the other new writer at Sirened. Despite the fact that McClellan left his Press Secretary duties some two years ago, the man literally lives and breathes the spin.

McClellan has no clue whether any additional White House officials broke the law in the leaking of CIA operative Valerie Plame’s identity. He does know that the Bush administration could have been more honest about things, but they didn’t necessarily lie and he himself, of course, did not lie.

This did not stop Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers (D-Michigan) from boldly stating “It seems clear that Mr. Libby, Mr. Card, the president and the vice president were all involved in directing Mr. McClellan to falsely vouch for Mr. Libby, despite Mr. McClellan’s earlier reservations.”

Whatever, I figured this little charade was a good excuse to show my jackass picture with the female James Bond once again. To read my take on seeing and meeting the very classy Valerie Plame, go here.

Post from: Sirened

Laura Bush Wants you to Wish “W’ a Happy 62nd Birthday!

George Bush

John McCain

62nd Birthday

Dog Poop

Laura Bush

Evidently President Numb Nuts has another birthday coming up because despite his presidency, the Earth still managed another revolution around the sun. And while it’s still 18 days away it’s never too early to sign his card and contribute to John McBush’s broke ass campaign. A donation of just $60 can buy John McCain the liver and onions senior special at Bob Evan’s and a greyhound bus ticket from Phoenix to the Mexican border.

To sign Dubya’s birthday card and contribute wads of cash go to www.please-get-the-hell-out-of-the-white-house.com

Post from: Sirened

John Cusack Takes on John McCain

Celebrities

George Bush

John McCain

YouTube

John Cusack

Moveon.org

Here’s John Cusack’s little ad for Moveon.org that attacks John McCain.
