With the US dollar struggling mightily, even against currencies like the Russian ruble, it’s a whole lot less of a bargain traveling with the green backs these days. But not all bad deals are created equal, so I thought it would be interesting to take a look at the 10 most expensive cities to visit with US money.

5)Haul stuff using this thing, which is basically a motorized shoe box.
4)Move to Venezuela. Gas is subsidized by the government and costs about 5 cents a gallon.
3)Save empty milk containers. When gas dips below $4 a gallon, fill the trunk with milk containers and fill them up at the gas station. This could literally save you dollars in the long run. Aside from being hazardous, the only other downside is that you will spend gas to haul gas.

Europe is filled with discount carriers that can take you just about anywhere you want to go, for cheap, even with US dollars and despite even higher fuel costs on this side of the pond. Discount carriers include Ryanair, Easyjet, SkyEurope, Transavia and Sterling to name a few.
Sterling is a Scandinavian based airline and from Amsterdam they fly to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo and Bergen, Norway. Of course, if you’re flying from a major Scandinavian city there are many more European destination options.

Happy Independence Day America! I’m sorry I can’t be with you to celebrate, but rest assured that I will be bringing 4th of July to the town of Kalmar, Sweden tonight.

Another month has come and gone, and slowly we’re all getting older and crustier. Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from June.

Last night Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton appeared together at a fund raiser, not for his campaign though, to re-pay her campaign debts. Obama announced that he had personally written a check for $2,300 in honor of Mrs. Clinton’s unsuccessful do whatever the hell it takes to become the most powerful person on the planet run.

Holy cannelloni! It’s a spicy meataball! The Italian Club of Seattle has come out and criticized this political ad put out by the Washington State Democratic Party as being “racist.”
The ad against Washington state gubernatorial candidate and Italian American Dino Rossi (R) portrays him as having some shady business connections, pretty standard in politics. Problem: the ad is set to the theme song of The Sopranos!
Come on, at least it’s a good song and it’s not like it shows anyone getting whacked. It only implies people are getting whacked.

In a June 10th article on Politico.com, Johansson said “You’d imagine that someone like the senator who is constantly traveling and constantly ‘on’ — how can he return these personal e-mails?” Yeah sure, you would think that if it was Rosie O’Donnell or Whoopi Goldberg but it’s Scarlett Johansson.
