Stephen Colbert: Interview With a Socialist

Stephen Colbert: Interview With a Socialist

People always talk about how the American political process is dominated by just two parties, but did you know that our US Senate has a socialist senator? That’s right, his name is Bernie Sanders and he hails from the free loving hippie commune Ben & Jerry’s state (aka Vermont). Sanders recently appeared on The Colbert Report and explained why the United States should morph into Finland.

Obama, Clinton, Edwards All Do Colbert

Obama, Clinton, Edwards All Do Colbert

Stephen Colbert didn’t have to do a whole lot of work on last night’s show as he had politicians doing most of the talking for him. A day after Clinton and Obama debated in Pennsylvania, they both appeared on The Colbert Report. It was known all week that Senator Clinton would appear on the show in some form, but Obama appearing via satellite was a surprise. And the fact that Obama appeared at the end of show kinda trumped Hillary’s in person appearance and probably took away whatever she was trying to gain from her visit.
Colbert was not given …read more

Daily Show/Colbert Report Writers Return!

Daily Show/Colbert Report Writers Return!

The writers strike is finally over! After watching over a month of The Daily Show and The Colbert Report episodes without writers, yesterday they finally came back! I have to hand to them, they did a great job without their full time writers, but something was definitely missing. As funny as Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are, it’s tough doing fresh comedy 4 nights a week without writers.
And hell, people like Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien had been doing 1 hour shows 5 nights a week without their full time writers. It’s been interesting but 5 weeks of …read more

Mike Huckabee Campaign Rally…God Bless Playoff Beards!

Mike Huckabee Campaign Rally…God Bless Playoff Beards!

Yesterday I didn’t just show up to “support” Rudy 9/11’s rally, but I also did so for Mike Huckabee (good friend of The Colbert Report). There was a John McCain rally in downtown Tampa in between but I was unable to make that one. Like Rudy, Huckabee also held his rally in an airplane hanger, except his was at Tampa International Airport. And again, there was no security before walking out on the tarmac. Aren’t these guys supposed to be tough on terror?
Anyways, since Mike Huckabee is a social conservative and former baptist minister, I felt I owned no better t-shirt to wear …read more

See Stephen Colbert’s Portrait at Washington’s National Gallery Bathroom

In case you missed last night’s Colbert Report, here is the exciting conclusion of the 3 part series involving Colbert trying to give his self portraits within a self portrait to the walls of history. First Colbert visited the Smithsonian where he viewed historic items such as Abraham Lincoln’s hat, George Washington’s army uniform and Helen Keller’s watch. The last one allowed for a classy joke where Stephen asked, how did Helen Keller tell time? That was awesome, I haven’t heard a Helen Keller joke since high school.
Ultimately the Smithsonian did not accept Stephen Colbert’s self portrait; deflated and in …read more

Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert Return!

Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert Return!

Last night The Daily Show and The Colbert Report returned to the airwaves for the first time since November 1st, shortly before the writer’s strike began. Despite the strike still going on, Comedy Central ordered the two comedians back to follow suit with David Letterman, Jay Leno and others on the bigger networks.
The shows were definitely different without the writers, but being they were the first in months, they weren’t necessarily less entertaining, particularly The Colbert Report which relies heavily on Stephen Colbert staying in character.
Colbert was bewildered as to why there weren’t any words on his teleprompter. He was then …read more

Colbert Report/Daily Show Returning Jan. 7th!

Colbert Report/Daily Show Returning Jan. 7th!

Yes! They’re finally coming back! It’s been weird the past few months not having new episodes of The Daily Show and the Colbert Report to make fun of all the shenanigans going on in politics and life.
Since they’ve been off so long they’ve missed out on making fun of so many different things. There’s been men coming forward saying they’ve had sex with ‘anti-gay’ senator Larry Craig, President Num Nuts doing his job (nuff’ said there), the idiocy of the run-up to the Iowa caucuses and so much more. It’s great that they’ll be back in just a few weeks to …read more

Colbert Discusses Ballot Dissing With “Brown Haired Guy That’s Not Steve Doocy”

Yesterday morning, Stephen Colbert called in to some radio show to discuss his not being allowed on the South Carolina democratic ballot with “Brown Haired Guy That’s Not Steve Doocy” and who I am coining “Radio Guy That’s Not Brown Haired Guy That’s Not Steve Doocy.” Brown Haired Guy That’s Not Steve Doocy told Colbert that maybe next time he should take his candidacy more seriously in which Stephen replied “Listen here Brown Haired Guy That’s not Steve Doocy…!”

Vote Colbert/Doritos in 2008!

Vote Colbert/Doritos in 2008!

South Carolina democrats just announced that they will not allow Stephen Colbert to be on their presidential primary ballot. But I believe Stephen Colbert should and will continue to fight this, as I have already endorsed him for president. And now in the spirit of building moral during this setback in the road I would like to officially endorse a running mate for Stephen, an actual bag of zesty nacho cheese Doritos themselves! Colbert/Doritos 2008. Hail to the cheese!

Where Was Stephen Colbert at Last Night’s Democratic Debates?

Where Was Stephen Colbert at Last Night’s Democratic Debates?

Here we see Stephen Colbert on Meet The Press with Tim Russert back on October 21st discussing his presidential bid (sponsored by delicious and zesty nacho cheese Doritos). Last night, Tim Russert, along with NBC nightly news anchor Brian Williams moderated a democratic debate at Drexel University on MSNBC. Problem was, Stephen Colbert was the only candidate that did not attend, along with Mike Gravel, but he does not count since he is polling much further down than zesty nacho cheese Doritos themselves.
One can only assume that Stephen Colbert is using the “Fred Thompson Model” of presidential candidacy, one in …read more
