Here’s a reprint of some opinions I expressed over Il Douche’s war rhetoric.

(A couple of caveats: I’m not on anyone’s side. I often refer to the current president as Il Douche, a heartfelt nod to the dictator Benito Mussolini, or Il Duce.)

Title: Bush on Iraq, or Satan’s Codpiece Speaks.

Every American should take a good long look at the text of Il Douche’s Thursday address on the Iraq catastrophe.

Almost every single component of his act of verbal defecation on the American people should goad every citizen to go mad with rage and disgust.

The speech begins like this:

In the life of all free nations, there come moments that decide the direction of a country and reveal the character of its people.

Damn straight. It’s time to impeach this human meat puppet and drive him and his cabal of soul-sucking demons out of power.

Then he refers to Iraq as an “ally of the United States” that is “fighting for survival.” No sh*t–they’re fighting the U.S. and killing more of our people every day.

It only gets worse from there.

Here’s the reality: Democracy is a privilege won by those willing to fight for it, not a right for maggots fighting against it.

I’ve joked about Bush’s war against evil, but in reality that’s exactly what he’s trying to fight, merrily harvesting the souls of our young and the financial well being of our future generations in a Quixotic battle that cannot be won as long as human nature is imperfect.

Bush has reached the point where ignorance, stupidity, and arrogance converge with evil.

Stop Bush before he kills again–in Iraq, in Iran, or anywhere else.

Impeach Bush now, before more blood is spilled.

Anyways, to all those who have perished for an unjust cause, created by incompetant and corrupt leadership: R.I.P. And to the families’ of those affected: May George Bush’s prayers due something to rectify something. I’m still waiting on this!

During the event, Plame spoke for about 1 hour and took questions for about 45 minutes, answering most of them in fairly in depth manner, including one from myself. I asked Plame “given the intelligence found by your husband Joe Wilson, what do you think are the reasons that the Bush administration manipulated intelligence to go to war with Iraq?”

She answered the question with a several minute response, and it was nothing surprising-basically saying that the administration was looking for whatever intelligence, however credible it was, to have a reason to invade Iraq and remove Saddam from power. She noted the influence and beliefs of the neo-cons and said that Collin Powell’s argument to the UN over invading Iraq was shameful for a man of his stature. But she said she wouldn’t go into conspiracy theories like daddy’s vendetta or wanting to occupy an oil rich nation.

Most of her speech detailed the personal events that unfolded before and after she was outed as a CIA operative, which can be read in her book Fair Game. She also touched some on the beginning of her career in the CIA, talking about all the rigorous training and studying, getting huge binders on the demographics and political landscapes of various countries, shooting practice, etc. Nothing that is classified information.

She blasted George Bush for pardoning Louis “Scooter” Libby of jail time and blasted Dick Cheney for not having to testify in the Libby trial.

As to claims that she has profited off her new celebrity status and the possibility that this has been a positive thing for her, she noted what a nightmare the past several years have been and wishes she could go back to the job she loved.

Afterwards she signed autographs and posed for some pictures, she was even nice enough to thank me for coming and after I thanked her she said “I hope I didn’t talk for too long.” Nope, definitely not.

There has been a lot of talk about water boarding and whether or not it is torture as defined by the Geneva Convention and United States law. The president has said point blank, “we do not torture.” Really, water boarding sounds pretty innocent and maybe even fun. If I didn’t know it was used on terrorist suspects I would envision something along the lines of knee boarding in a lake, which actually can be torture depending on your skill and how fast the driver of the boat is going.

Anyways, here is a demonstration of water boarding just in case you’re curious. You may want to show this to your kids, their friends and some of the neighborhood children too. There’s a good chance that one day a baseball is going to come flying through your window and the culprits will most likely flee the scene of the crime. Thankfully water boarding is not torture and it is said to be a successful way to obtain information. So with that in mind, you can round up some suspects, and use the wonderful water boarding techniques that are displayed in this instructional video. You will most definitely obtain some kind of information by using this!

Well, Thomas the Tankcredo is back at it again. In case you hadn’t heard, this man is running for president as a republican and currently serves as a congressman in Colorodo. Perhaps he spends too much time high up in the Rockies and not enough oxygen gets to his brain. This was the man that said the United States should not rule out bombing the holiest Muslim site in Mecca if we were to get attacked again. Yes, an all out Christian-Muslim war must be the answer, let’s just turn the clocks back about 600 years.

Long shot elfish presidential candidate Dennis Kusinich has been a staunch advocate against the Iraq war and Bush/Cheney/Darth Vader Sith Lord policies. On Tuesday, little Dennis got to speak on the House floor and rambled about how Cheney lied to us (about things other than oval office hummers) and for that he believes Cheney deserves to be impeached. Kusinich really rambles here with a laundry list of Darth Cheney’s secret under dwelling plans to mislead America into war. Ok sure, but is he really planning on building that Death Star? Seems awfully ambitious for someone that just likes to shoot quail and old men in the face.

In his endorsement of Giuliani, Robertson said “the overriding issue before the American people is the defense of our population from the blood lust of Islamic terrorists.” Wow, sounds pretty terrifying! Seems like “9/11″ Rudy really is the right man for the job, especially when the endorsement comes from a radical fundamentalist dude who agreed that 9/11 was punishment from God because we tolerate the gays and don’t stone them. Sure, seems logical.

Anyways kids, go celebrate this hate mongering union by throwing snickers bars in your local public swimming pool!

During the 60 Minutes piece the US military was quite candid about the analysis they use when undertaking air strikes. In fact, I think it was too candid. For high profile targets they can estimate killing up to 29 civilians without asking the president or secretary of defense. But if they estimate they will kill more than 30 they need a permission slip from one of the big wigs.

Of course, the US is a strong backer of Karzai’s government so he may be doing this to pander to his own people while at the same time telling us to continue bombing what we feel are necessary targets. Nonetheless, this is a messy situation. We are certainly not winning the hearts and minds of Afghani’s by killing innocent people and not hitting intended targets. Karzai’s government cannot succeed in the long term if this continues.
