Colbert For President…In South Carolina

In case you haven’t heard, Stephen Colbert officially announced he is running for president…in his home state of South Carolina. Stephen plans to run as both a democrat and republican but is focusing on getting his name on the democratic ballot first. The reason is that the cost of getting on the democratic presidential ballot is $2,500 while it is $25,000 to get on the republican presidential ballot, plus a $10,000 late fee as a republican! Obviously the democratic party in South Carolina is pretty hard up for candidates to run for stuff!
The makers of delicious preservative goodness, Doritos, are nice enough to sponsor Stephen but due to election laws Doritos cannot directly pay the $2,500 to get him on the democratic ballot. Luckily, if he gets 3,000 signatures from South Carolina residents who identify themselves as democrats the $2,500 fee is waived. So here in the link for the petition, now get out there and get moving South Carolina! And like Stephen said, if your not a democrat, ask your help to sign the petition.
Stephen’s glorious image from Colbert Nation.
