Happy 3rd Anniversary Bellinda!

I normally don’t get too too personal in my posts but I wanted to take this opportunity to wish my wife a happy 3 year wedding anniversary. Thanks for 3 great years and many more to come! And since this has been a great story, I’ll share some of it with my reader who don’t know…

It’s extra special that we get to spend this one in Amsterdam because my wife and I hung out here over 6 years ago, just after we first met. We met in Brugge, Belgium which is just a 3 hour train ride from Amsterdam (and a beautiful European town at that). We had each finished our bachelor’s degrees and were backpacking solo around Europe, bouncing from hostel to hostel.

I had just left Amsterdam to check out Brugge and on my first night there I met Bellinda from Australia, who was staying in a co-ed 8 bed room with me. She had to leave the next day for Amsterdam but since I was going back there for a day we decided to meet up. So the 2nd day we ever hung out was in this gorgeous city, and since I knew the city I took her to some of my favorite hangouts-we had a blast and that led to us meeting up again in Rome on the same trip.

The story goes a lot further with her flying back to Australia, us meeting up again in Thailand a couple years later, getting engaged on a Thai beach, moving to Australia for a year and getting married there, moving to the US for a few years, and now it’s day 10 (of 4 years!) living in Amsterdam. Funny how things go full circle sometimes…and in this case, literally!

Anyways, that’s the story in a big nutshell. And that’s a picture of us on our way over here, which thanks to a friend we got to sit in business class (thanks Kathy!).
