Is Al Gore Planning to Run For President?
Amongst all the Hillary/Obama hype has been the burning question for many democrats: Will Al Gore run for president?
He has seemed pretty content making movies, writing books and enjoying the Hollywood spotlight. It’s a good alternative to other ego boosting activities like being the actual president of the United States. If anything, being a Hollywood star can be even more ego boosting because young people could actually care about you and paparazzi photos of you could actually be worth money. Of course, in Al Gore’s case, neither of these things is plausible.
It has been my belief for sometime now that Al Gore will decide to run for president some time around September. This blog on the site Crooks and Liars highlights some reasons why Big Al might be planning to throw his name in the presidential hat.
Waiting to officially run is a total win win for Al Gore and us. At the moment he is not wasting his time and other people’s money prancing around Iowa and other states. He’s just been prancing around the talk shows and award shows like the Oscar’s, living the dream and still enjoying the limelight. And come September, I predict he will run for president, eventually become the democratic nominee and in 2008 he will be elected president for the second time.
Two things I cannot predict here is whether Gore will talk about “lock boxes” or have a full on make out session with Tipper like his last go-round. As far as running mates go, again, difficult to predict at this point, maybe a surprise like Leonardo DiCaprio? That would be a popular pick with many young girls.
