Mike Huckabee Campaign Rally…God Bless Playoff Beards!

by Alex on January 29th, 2008

Mike Huckabee Campaign RallyYesterday I didn’t just show up to “support” Rudy 9/11’s rally, but I also did so for Mike Huckabee (good friend of The Colbert Report). There was a John McCain rally in downtown Tampa in between but I was unable to make that one. Like Rudy, Huckabee also held his rally in an airplane hanger, except his was at Tampa International Airport. And again, there was no security before walking out on the tarmac. Aren’t these guys supposed to be tough on terror?

Anyways, since Mike Huckabee is a social conservative and former baptist minister, I felt I owned no better t-shirt to wear than my God Bless Playoff Beards shirt (from ADBTEES). I told Mike Huckabee that I loved him on The Colbert Report, he really does have a great sense of humor to go along with his social policies that would set us back to Medieval times. At a rally in Jacksonville, he asked one man who said he already voted for him if he could go vote for him again since this is Florida and all (yeah that’s a felony but it sure was funny!).

Mike Huckabee-Us Against Them

Mike Huckabee’s two big slogans are “I Like Mike” and “Us Against Them.” The first one is pretty straight forward but the second can certainly mean a lot of things. And as displayed by that last picture, it’s really never too early to get polarizing messages out to our youth.

I will say this, Huckabee had a larger and louder crowd than Rudy 9/11 had, but there was also far less media since Bush was doing his State of Disunion speech. Anyways, based on this small sample I project Mike Huckabee will finish 3rd today in Florida. Good news for Giuliani is that all his hard work in Rudy Country should pay off by finishing ahead of that pesky Ron Paul.

And again, with the hockey playoffs coming up, I encourage you to swing by A Drunk Buffalo T-Shirt Company and pick up a God Bless Playoff Beards shirt. And Mike, in the slim chance you win the republican nomination; make sure to keep your promise to make Stephen Colbert your running mate!

Looks like a good time in Florida! So, whose party was better? From the photos, it looks like Rudy’s took top prize.

Hey Heather!-Yeah, it’s election time in Florida so I expect nothing short of something getting mucked up! Voter intimidation allegations, ballot fraud, all the goodies!

The two rallies were VERY different, Rudy’s was more high brow New Yorkers and there were tons of media. Plus he had Jon Voight and the governor of Texas. But Huckabee had a larger audience and he stuck around longer. Rudy was 40 minutes late, didn’t apologize and dipped out quick. He had to have been irked about the turnout :)

GREAT work ALEX…the traffic has been most appreciated, and its great to see that presidential hopefuls don’t think the shirt is blasphemous.

Thanks Jeff! Yeah I have to hand it to Huckabee for having a sense of humor. I had to bug him quite a bit as he was more interested in his genuine supporters and ignored me several times. But I finally got him to pose! I think he got sick of me patting on his shoulder :)
